Carol Lange receives JEA's Carl Towley Award

November 25, 2008

Our own Carol Lange recently won the JEA’s Carl Towley Award, JEA’s lifetime achievement. Carol has been an outstanding print journalism adviser for 30 years. She has been the JEA’s Journalism Teacher of the Year. Now she is expanding to broadcast and online high school journalism. She has worked with HSBJ for four years coordinating our JEA Convention coverage. Carol wrote the RTNDF’s outstanding Radio Curriculum. She works with the Washington Post on its Newspaper in Education program – providing lesson plans and activities on subjects from history to science to sports. Carol is a fantastic teacher. We are so pleased she is on the HSBJ team. If you would like to send Carol a note, send it to and we’ll send them along to her.
