Paul Kandell knows Journalism is a front row seat on life and for more than 13 years he has put his students in that front row seat – in print, in video, in web. Teachers around the country have followed his students’ work on the Paly Voice website and Verde Magazine.

Paul is this year’s Dow Jones Newspaper Fund National High School Journalism Teacher of the Year. For years Paly Voice (with video, audio and slide shows) has been on the cutting edge of multimedia education. If you heard – and saw – his acceptance speech at the 2010 JEA Convention in Washington, D.C., you know what a passionate and creative teacher Paul is.

On Jan. 28 more than 100 teachers were registered for a Webinar on 21^st Century High School Media. Paul spoke for about 25 minutes and answered teachers questions.
